About

Mark Stohlman leads the finance, accounting and purchasing teams at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.

His groups are charged with the daily accounting-related activities and maintaining the financial records for the Center. This includes grants and loans, purchasing and fixed assets accounting. The team also is responsible for the regularly required State reporting as well as annual tax and audit work.

Prior to joining the Center, Stohlman served in senior management positions with some of the area’s premier life science companies. These companies covered the complete life-cycle of the industry from pharmaceuticals, contract manufacturing, clinical trial organizations and related services companies.

Stohlman also spent a decade as a locally-elected official with the town of Morrisville, North Carolina. He served on several boards, including being appointed by the Governor to the Board of Trustees with the Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.

Stohlman obtained his undergraduate degree from The American University in Washington, DC and his graduate degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also been a licensed CPA with the State of North Carolina since 1995.
