Patel is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Rutgers University’s Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The Inaugural 2025 Carolina Symposium on Genome Integrity and Chromatin Regulation will take place at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. 

This one-day symposium will bring together 100–150 researchers from North Carolina and South Carolina, highlighting cutting-edge advances in genome integrity and chromatin regulation.
