Free online Career Center enhanced for companies, job seekers
An online marketplace connecting life sciences companies with workforce talent in North Carolina has been retooled to better serve employers and job seekers throughout the state.
The North Carolina Biotechnology Center’s newly relaunched Career Center site is now fully automated. On one recent day, the site listed nearly 2,000 jobs – about 15 times more jobs than the previous version of the site typically posted.

“The increased number and diverse types of roles allow job seekers to quickly and easily find relevant opportunities,” said Pearl Sullivan, NCBiotech’s life sciences community engagement manager.
The Career Center “scrapes” the career websites of select North Carolina life sciences companies for job postings, eliminating the administrative burden on companies of posting jobs manually or paying a large fee for scraping. Smaller companies, including those without career websites, can post jobs manually.
Free for companies and job seekers
The site is free to companies hiring in North Carolina and to job seekers.
“We’ve always had the vision of being a one-stop shop for job seekers – offering them a single place to be able to find a comprehensive list of the open positions in the industry statewide,” said Gillian Kelly, a data analyst for NCBiotech who worked on the new Career Center upgrades and is the site’s administrator.
New features on the site allow job seekers to search opportunities by title, company, or keyword, and to filter jobs by function, location, seniority level, salary and on-site versus remote work. The site also connects job seekers to a Talent Network that lets them set up a job alert, upload their resume and build a profile that pulls in content from their LinkedIn profile.
“The Talent Network enables job seekers to be matched with companies, notified about relevant roles and even introduced to hiring managers, expediting the hiring process on both sides,” Sullivan said.
The Career Center revamp occurred alongside the redesign of NCBiotech’s Careers and Training pages and the roll-out of the new NC Life Sciences Career Community on LinkedIn. Together, these updates are providing enhanced resources and connectivity to bolster North Carolina’s position as a leader for life sciences talent.
"As the North Carolina life sciences community continues to grow, the new Career Center is one of the many ways NCBiotech is supporting job seekers and companies across the state," Sullivan said.
