BTEC Seminar: Synthetic Biology for People and Planet Health
The BTEC Seminar Series gathers industry professionals and faculty from all areas of biomanufacturing to showcase new research, trends, methods, and processes. Seminar topics span varying aspects of the biomanufacturing industry, including research and development, upstream and downstream manufacturing, process development, quality control, and assurance.
On August 28, Michael Jewett, Ph.D., will present on synthetic biology and how cell-free systems are opening new opportunities in biotechnology in his talk "Synthetic Biology for People and Planet Health".
Meet the Speaker
Michael Jewett is a Professor of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering (by courtesy) at Stanford University. He is a recipient of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award, the David and Lucile Packard Fellowship in Science and Engineering, the Camille-Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, a Finalist for the Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists, and the Acrivos Award for Professional Progress within AIChE.
