BPD Supply Chain Symposium Sponsored by Biologos
Join us on Nov. 4 to hear supply chain management practitioners speak about current disruptions to global supply chains impacting the Biotechnology/Biopharmaceutical industry, and learn about the upstream macro causes that led to the current state of supply chains. Industry leaders will discuss risk mitigation efforts implemented within their operations to minimize the impact of supply chain disruptions.
For those who cannot join us in person, we will live-stream the seminars and Q&A via zoom, but we will not provide virtual networking opportunities as part of the event.
Agenda
”What is Wrong with Global Supply Chains?” - Dr. Rob Handfield, Professor of Supply Chain Management at North Carolina State University
Dr. Handfield will speak to the current state of supply chains in 2022 and discuss some of the underlying factors that led to the on-going shortages in the biotechnology, petrochemical, transportation, manufacturing, packaging, and semiconductor industries. He will also answer questions from the group on what can be done in the short and medium term to address these issues.
"Establishing Strategic Sourcing Infrastructure to Guarantee Robust, Reliable Raw Materials Supply” - Ryan Phillips, Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager, Precision BioSciences
Ryan will provide examples of risk mitigation efforts deployed at Precision BioSciences that have proven effective at reducing supply chain risk and enabling uninterrupted supply of cell therapies to the clinic.
Pat Bower, Sr. Director, Supply Chain, Actylis
Patrick will speak to how supply chain issues are affecting the chemical industry.
"The Big Chill: Pharma Cold-Chain in NC" - Michael Braddock, Chief Revenue Officer, Frontier Scientific Solutions
Michael will talk about the current state of the cold chain logistics industry, including recent challenges arising from API manufacturer’s abrupt transition away from the JIT (‘Just In Time’) model, and the resulting bullwhip effect this causes in the transportation and cold storage space. In addition, you’ll hear about how the industry is evolving to overcome these hurdles to ensure temperature excursions are mitigated.
