Raleigh #1 on Ranking of GDP Leaders in Mid-Size Metro Markets

North Carolina’s economic development efforts are recognized in Business Facilities magazine’s 2020 Metro Rankings Report, with the City of Raleigh number one on its list of GDP leaders in mid-size metro markets.

Raleigh also ranked number six among the nation’s tech hub growth leaders and seventh for millennial magnets, while the Raleigh-Durham region ranked number seven for start-up ecosystems.

Raleigh and Durham were not the only North Carolina cities to be named in the magazine’s report. Charlotte ranked number eight for best business climate among large metro areas. Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton ranked number five for manufacturing for mid-size metropolitan statistical areas.

The state landed in the top ten in six of 25 categories in Business Facilities’ metro rankings. In the same report, North Carolina landed in the top ten in nine of 26 categories in Business Facilities’ state rankings.

Orlando topped the best business climate list, and Dallas led the list of Millennial Magnets.

The trade publication’s annual list is a leading resource for corporate site selectors and economic development professionals who help businesses make location and relocation decisions.
