Sciencix was founded in Minnesota in 1985 and moved its headquarters to Cary in 2019. In 2021, Raj Bhandari, the company’s manager of customer service and sales and marketing, bought Sciencix and continues to serve as its president.

Sciencix has seven employees in Cary and 19 at its manufacturing and distribution center in Burnsville, Minn.

The company makes replacement and repair parts for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation. HPLC is an analytical chemistry process used in biotech and pharma manufacturing, drug testing, contamination analysis and other lab functions. In 2017, Sciencix added mass spectrometry replacement parts to its product lineup.

Following its move to North Carolina, the company secured a $24,000 SBA State Trade Expansion Program grant with the support of the N.C. Small Business and Technology Development Center.

The company will be honored in Washington during National Small Business Week, April 30-May 2.
