Future of Food

The Future of Food group, an interdisciplinary group of alternative protein stakeholders in North Carolina, provides a focal point for alternative protein activity. The group is on a mission to grow as an alt protein hub that contributes to the state’s sustainable economic growth, technological innovation, social welfare, and environment. We are creating an equitable agri-food ecosystem in North Carolina, minus the environmental and ethical challenges we currently face.


This is an informal networking group for anyone who lives in the Triangle and is interested in meeting other folks who believe that the future of food production doesn't include animals. Whether you are working for a company in the alternative protein space or are simply interested in this topic, you are welcome to come to our meetups. You do not have to be vegetarian or vegan to join us. Speaker topics will include all forms of alternative protein (cellular agriculture, fermented products, and plant-based proteins).
