New R&D facility positions Jellatech to scale bio-identical collagen production
Jellatech, a woman-led innovator in sustainable protein production, has opened a new 9,000-square-foot R&D facility in Morrisville. The company will use the new facility to expand bio-identical collagen production, focusing on validation and helping its customers launch pre-clinical trials.
Jellatech is a B2B company focused on advancing tissue regeneration, injectable aesthetics, cell and gene therapy and various therapeutic applications by supplying human-identical collagen and complex proteins. The company’s proprietary cell-based technology produces bio-identical collagen without relying on animal sources. Cultivating collagen directly from cells enables high-purity and high-quality collagen while minimizing environmental impact and ensuring consistency.
“Our new facility represents a leap forward in our ability to deliver high-quality, consistent and ethically produced proteins for human health and longevity applications,” said Stephanie Michelsen, CEO of Jellatech. “This move not only significantly increases our production capacity but also reinforces our commitment to setting new standards in sustainability, innovation and cutting-edge biotechnology.”

The new facility houses advanced bioreactors and specialized labs, allowing Jellatech to accelerate the development of high-value proteins, optimize cell line development, and meet stringent regulatory requirements in the biomedical and pharmaceutical industries.
The company plans to obtain Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certification by 2026, which will help enhance the facility’s credibility and compliance. The new facility will also offer a hub for fostering collaborative R&D industry partners to advance the next generation of biostimulatory and regenerative healthcare solutions. These efforts will help the company establish the groundwork needed for the broad adoption of collagen-based applications across various sectors.
Jellatech also recently launched an updated brand and website to showcase its mission to revolutionize biomedical applications through cutting-edge, human-identical proteins, starting with Type 1 collagen. With a focus on ethical, scalable and environmentally friendly processes, Jellatech provides solutions for industries ranging from biomedical to food and beverage.
