Project Description:

An emerging strategy for the treatment of breast cancer is the reduction of 27-hydroxyholesterol levels by inhibiting the enzyme cytochrome P450 27A1. Scientists at Appalachian State University will test two approved drugs, procarbazine and dasatinib, to see if they inhibit the cholesterol reactions of P450 27A1 while maintaining its role in vitamin D3 metabolism.
