About
Steve Fowler joined NCBiotech in October 2019 as a Grants Management Specialist. He is responsible for the day-to-day administration of post-award grant activities, which include invoicing, payments, reporting and communicating with grantees to ensure proper adherence to NCBiotech's grant regulations.
Before joining NCBiotech, Steve was a senior award consultant for North Carolina State University. There, he managed a portfolio of grants and contracts for numerous principal investigators within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Before joining NC State, he worked for many years as a business officer, where he audited state and federal grants in the Office of the Internal Auditor within the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Steve was born in Long Island, NY, but moved to Northern Virginia as a child. After high school, Steve joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served as a Boatswain’s Mate, stationed in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, and Frankfort, Michigan, during his enlistment. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College.
