About
Monica joined NCBiotech in January 2023 to lead the NCGrads2Work grant initiative. She is passionate about sharing career opportunities in the NC life sciences ecosystem with high school students in the East, especially in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The continued growth and development of NCGrads2Work has led to the exciting use of VR technology to demonstrate real-life applications when connecting students with career pathways.
With a background in gifted education, academic counseling and teaching at the community college level, she has been immersed in public education for most of her career. Monica has written curriculum, developed and implemented a student outreach program called ACES (Academic Counseling & Educational Support) and led professional development at the school, LEA and state levels. In addition, she brings experience as a business owner in the health, fitness and recreation sectors.
Monica and her husband reside in Greenville. They have two adult sons and one grandson. While she is partial to ECU purple and UNCW teal, her family tree has grown leaves of NC State Red and Carolina Blue.
