About
Mark has been employed at NCBiotech since September 2009, and he currently serves as VP of Statewide Operations, where he is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of five regional statewide offices. He also performs the duties as the Executive Director in the Eastern Region in Greenville and is responsible for positioning biotechnology in the entire Eastern Region (27 counties) of North Carolina, with short and long-term economic development goals through projects and strategies stimulating the development of biotechnology, with a vision to make North Carolina a global life science leader.
Mark is also responsible for facilitating partnerships among government, business, academic, policy, and educational participants; representing the regional biotechnology community statewide and identifying and strengthening regional niche areas of application. He also identifies opportunities, assists in the establishment or recruitment of life science companies, and serves as the regional conduit, advocate, and primary contact for the programs and goals of the NC Biotechnology Center.
Mark has over 35 years of experience in various management areas, including human resources, finance, customer service, external and governmental relations, marketing and sales, and economic development in the electric, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical industries.
