As U.S. companies start implementing their return-to-work strategies, LabCorp is stepping up to offer its services.

LabCorp, one of the largest diagnostic testing laboratories in the U.S., with headquarters in Burlington, is now giving employers access to LabCorp’s COVID-19 testing solutions, including its at-home collection test kit, its new fingerstick antibody blood test, and in the fall, flu vaccination services.

Employers can also opt for LabCorp’s “trained medical staff” to help with employee check-in health questionnaires, temperature screens and COVID-19 test collection – onsite or offsite.

Test options

LabCorp Employer Services, previously called Wellness Corporate Solutions, offers a number of test options:

  • COVID-19 PCR Testing for employees with active symptoms, and
  • COVID-19 IgG antibody blood testing for asymptomatic employees

The first uses a self-collection nasal swab to detect the presence of the underlying virus that causes COVID-19, with results available in 2-4 days.

The second is a finger-stick antibody blood test – a “convenient way to test large numbers,” LabCorp said.

It detects IgG antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19, which can help determine if an individual may have been exposed to the virus and developed an immune response.

However, it comes with a caveat: While antibody tests are “helpful,” LabCorp noted, “antibody testing should not be used as the sole basis to diagnose or exclude infection.”
