Project Description:
Durham County was awarded a $100,000 EDA grant to support hands-on training for AveXis' new gene therapy manufacturing facility in Durham County. AveXis announced in May 2018 it would be creating 200 new jobs in Research Triangle Park, including engineers, manufacturing and quality control personnel, and supply chain specialists with an average salary of $104,000; in February 2019, the company announced it would be creating an additional 200 jobs in RTP as it expands its manufacturing capacity.
