Project Description:
BioFluidica, Inc. is developing automated instrumentation for the detection, quantitation, and characterization of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in whole blood as a biomarker for cancer detection and treatment management. CTCs are found at extremely low concentrations in blood, which requires isolation and detection methods with high levels of recovery and purity. BioFluidica has developed a portable instrument that works in conjunction with a disposable plastic cartridge to fully automate and rapidly enumerate CTCs for the detection of metastatic cancers.
