Project Description: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is awarded funding for purchase of a 4-channel Cryoprobe for the magnetic resonanace imaging (MRI) scanner in the Small Animal MRI Core Facility. This cutting-edge equipment will shorten scan time, while greatly improving data quality of rodent brain scans, and will put this core facility at the forefront in small animal MRI. The equipment will bring significant impact to studies of brain cancer, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
