Career Options for STEM Ph.D.s Networking Event

Postdocs and graduate students are more than ever considering careers in the private sector. But where to start? A good beginning is to have a frank discussion with professionals in various nonacademic positions, and to gain an understanding of what work is really like in those settings.

This networking event is an opportunity for postdocs and graduate students to build connections with the local community in areas such as large companies, start-ups, nonprofits, government agencies, and other forms of industry, particularly in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, but covering a range of companies. Our guests will include scientists, business owners, entrepreneurs, consultants, CEOs, venture capitalists, HR managers, tech transfer specialists, and patent specialists.
