Blockchain: The Digital Future of Ag Product Traceability
Join friends and colleagues from our region and share what’s happening in North Carolina’s ag tech industry. The Ag Tech Professional Forum is a series held throughout the year providing the opportunity to learn about N.C.’s diverse agricultural resources, while also offering a setting for networking and engagement outside of our normal workspaces. See the agenda below for the upcoming Forum topic and details.
November's Forum will discuss the newest technology that allows the transfer of assets or products from one point to another without an intermediary. For agriculture, that means traceability, transparency, food security, more efficient supply chains, faster transfer of payment and accountability all within one virtual system.
So what does this mean for the agriculture and food sectors and what will be the effects and opportunities arising from its implementation? Speakers will cover this in discussions around Walmart and IBM's tracking of leafy greens, global seafood supply, livestock, commodity grains, international trade, pre-harvest and cryptocurrency. Join us!
