Gravinese is a senior financial executive who has served as a value-added partner to chief executive officers and other top management in a variety of industries including local government finance, not for profits, and public accounting. Her background in financial and operational leadership includes technical expertise in government and not for profit accounting, investments, debt issuance, capital planning, financial reporting and adherence to GAAP standards.

Gravinese joined the Biotechnology Center in February 2008. As Controller and a member of the senior management team, she is responsible for all of the Center's financial functions including accounting and purchasing, contracts and grants, corporate administration and the Hamner Conference Center. She has a strong commitment to ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and achievement of the vision and goals of the Center.

In addition to her professional experience, she is a member of the Supervisory Committee and participates on the Asset Liability Management Committee for the North Carolina Local Government Federal Credit Union, and the Council on Finance and Administration for the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.   She is also a member of several professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), and the Raleigh Professional Women Forum (RPWF).

Gravinese earned her BS degree from San Jose State University.
