Great Deals Offered Exclusively for North Carolina Companies
The following products are available for small- to medium-sized North Carolina companies through a consortium organized by the Biotechnology Center Library. Prices and packages are pre-negotiated by the library to provide value and easy access to these companies, who may not otherwise be able to afford the resources. Market Research Reports from Business Insights*
Who: NC-based companies with 20 or fewer employees
Cost: $1,000 per company per year
Details: Participating companies will receive a company-wide desktop subscription to a set of healthcare and pharmaceutical market research reports. The interactive online platform allows users to easily perform keyword searches, as well as cut and paste text, figures and tables for use in presentations. Over 200 reports (a value of more than $500,000) can be accessed, including new titles as they are published throughout the year. Currently available titles are listed on the publisher website, along with abstracts and tables of contents.

*Note: Market research reports from Business Insights and a second publisher, BCC Research, are also available in print format at the RTP library for note-taking at no charge. Photocopying is prohibited by our license. Reports may also be available in our regional offices, contact the library for details or view our current list of reports.
ScienceDirect Journals, eBooks and Scopus citation database
Who: NC-based companies with 50 or fewer scientific researchers
Cost: Based on number of researchers, ScienceDirect is $1,245 per researcher
Details: Elsevier offers their ScienceDirect Corporate Edition (full text scientific journals database), eBooks Corporate Edition (scientific and medical reference books, handbooks, and book series), and Scopus Citation Database (over three times as many journals as PubMed with a more international scope). EBSCO Business Resources and MEDLINE with Full Text
Who: NC-based companies with 200 or fewer employees
Cost: $1,000 to $2,000 per company per year (based on company size)
Details: EBSCO Publishing offers a biotechnology business package consisting of three resources: Business Source Corporate (full-text business and management journals database), MEDLINE with Full Text (medical journals database, some in full text), and their Small Business Reference Center (entrepreneurial information, videos, and state-specific demographics and information).
