Tom Pike Succeeds Gillings at Quintiles Helm

Tom Pike won’t have far to go when he starts his new job April 30 replacing Dennis Gillings as CEO of global CRO leader Quintiles.

Pike, who has spent the past two years helping start-up companies after 22 years at Raleigh-based Accenture, was chosen to succeed Quintiles founder Gillings because of his “impressive track record of helping customers navigate fast-changing environments and solving complex business issues,” Gillings said in an announcement today.

Gillings will continue serving as chairman of the huge privately owned company that he founded more than three decades ago. Quintiles, which operates from global headquarters in Research Triangle Park, now has more than 25,000 employees in more than 60 countries.
