IEEE Event: Turning Meaningful Use Into Productive Use-Utilizing the Human Technology Aspect

Event Date:
Wednesday, February 29, 2012 3:00pm to 6:00pm

Presentation & Panel Discussion Sponsored by IEEE

Improving Healthcare delivery entails much more than applying new technologies and devices. Quite often the healthcare organizations employing all these tools are dysfunctional in their ability to efficiently serve patients, utilize facilities, maintain proper supply levels, schedule procedures, etc. Many hospitals have embarked on process improvement training such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc., in order to try to improve the way they run their massive and often inefficient organizations.

This methodology enhances the ability of healthcare organizations to do their work more productively, whether simply practicing medicine and/or utilizing technology. If the organization does not develop a continuous improvement culture, it hurts the ability of the technology to fulfill its promise.

Panel Participants Include:

  • Sean Lewis, MSME
  • Mark Jaben, MD
  • Ann Lefebvre, MSW, CPHQ
  • Jeff Spade, FACHE
  • Brian Toomey, MSW
