A little bit of Sweden has migrated to North Carolina with the opening of TFS HealthScience’s U.S. headquarters in Durham.

The Lund, Sweden-based contract research organization (CRO) said the expanded presence in North America will better support the increasing demand for tailored and flexible clinical research solutions from its biotechnology and pharmaceutical customers.

“TFS continues to grow, and, with the opening of our new office, we are able to improve our global offering,” said Joakim Twetman, the company’s board chairman. “The opening will strengthen our U.S. presence and thereby allow us to support our clients even better across their clinical development journey. I am very excited about this new stage for TFS and what the future will bring.”

The company has been in business for more than 25 years. It assists biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies throughout the clinical development process. TFS says it provides scientific expertise and a full range of competencies and solutions.

Its website notes that TFS combines “the full-service capabilities and global reach of a large CRO with the flexibility and personal approach only a mid-size CRO can deliver.” The company covers a broad range of therapeutic areas that include hematology and oncology; dermatology, immunology and inflammatory diseases; ophthalmology; internal medicine; and neuroscience.

It provides custom clinical research support in more than 40 countries. TFS offers customers clinical development services, including clinical trials; strategic resourcing that targets major pharmaceutical companies; and functional services that offer customers strategic staffing solutions.
