North Carolina’s community colleges continue to be critical partners to growing life sciences companies seeking skilled workers.

“Our community college system fuels North Carolina’s job engine, making the state a greater global competitor for business and industry,” said Thomas Stith president, N.C. Community College System. “Our strong partnerships with companies throughout North Carolina and beyond are providing skilled and trained students, from high school students to adult learners, to meet workforce demands. Events such as career fairs provide companies with another recruitment tool to quickly find employees that align with the knowledge and skillsets that they need.”

Life sciences companies participating in this year’s event include Biogen, Grifols, Merck, Seqirus and Thermo Fisher Scientific, among others. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about contract employment opportunities with representatives from career placement agencies including Frankel Staffing Partners, Corestaff Services, SPECTRAFORCE, and ON-BOARD Companies.

North Carolina students are eligible to have their resumes reviewed before the event.

BioNetwork’s last career fair was in November 2021 when 138 students and graduates from seven community colleges and four universities met with representatives from 22 life sciences companies. The organization provides economic and workforce development for the biotechnology and life sciences sectors across North Carolina. It offers education, training and laboratory resources to students and corporate partners.
