Riddick Joins Board at UNCG

Gwyn Riddick, regional director of the Piedmont Triad office of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, was recently appointed to serve on the Science Advisory Board (SAB) at UNC Greensboro.

The board's mission is to assist the science departments, research centers and laboratories at UNCG to achieve their goals in government/community relations, professional/industry relations, communications and resource development. Members advise, advocate, and open doors on the university's behalf.

This year, the board will include a larger, more diverse representation of community and campus members, and Riddick will be an asset to the team.

Gwyn Riddick joined the Biotechnology Center in September 2003 as director of the Piedmont Triad Office, the first of five regional offices opened by the Biotechnology Center.

His 35 years in life sciences and horticulture span a career in industry, higher education and economic development. As a North Carolina State University faculty member, Riddick served as director of the Guilford County Cooperative Extension Service. Riddick later was director of economic development and business and industry education at Guilford Technical Community College, and continues to serve on multiple community and academic boards and committees.
