Ponytail Ag Combing Through the Accomplishments of Women in Agriculture Across the State

Four of North Carolina's key agricultural partners are coming together in a collaborative effort to highlight the contributions women have made to the agriculture industry in North Carolina.

Leading women across the state are changing the future beyond the farm. Innovations, resources, opportunities and experiences will be shared on tour and social platforms to showcase the impact women have on North Carolina’s agriculture industry.

Ponytail AgNCBiotech will be working with N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, N.C. Farm Bureau, and Feed the Dialogue N.C. for the tour that kicks off August 26. The campaign will largely be online and can be followed using the hashtag #PonytailAg on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

The Ponytail Ag campaign is still accepting nominations to be interviewed during the tour. If you know any women in agriculture from N.C. that you feel should be represented in the campaign, please reach out to kristen@tabletopmediagroup.com.

Aug. 26-27: Eastern N.C.

Aug. 28-29: Piedmont Region

Sept. 9-11: Research Triangle Park

Oct. 7-9: Western N.C.

Atlantic Fish Co develops cultivated black sea bass
Raleigh sustainable food startup Atlantic Fish Co has developed and tested a cultivated black sea bass prototype, the company’s latest milestone in the production of sustainable seafood made from harvested fish cells.

In an announcement this week with the North Carolina Food Innovation Lab (NCFIL) in Kannapolis, Atlantic Fish said development of the sea bass represents a breakthrough in cellular agriculture. The company produces seafood by harvesting fish cells, feeding them nutrients and giving them a structure to grow on.
