National Cancer Institute Taps Eva Garland Consultanting to Help SBIR/STTR Applicants

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Eva Garland Consulting have teamed up to help small businesses successfully submit applications for Phase I of the federally funded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. 

NCI is accepting applications for its Applicant Assistance Program (AAP) through May 30. The goal of the AAP is to increase the number of applications submitted by underrepresented small businesses conducting research that complements the NCI’s mission. 

Successful applicants will be paired with an Eva Garland consultant who will guide them through the SBIR/STTR application process. The service is not available to companies that have a current SBIR/STTR application under review or are preparing a Fast Track or Phase II application.

Over a 10-week period, successful applicants will work with their assigned consultant on topics ranging from defining an SBIR/STTR appropriate scope, and identifying the research team, to downloading and completing the application and preparing the budget.
