March 13 ISPE-CaSA Conference Free to Pharma Manufacturing

ISPE-CaSa logoIf you’re among the thousands of pharmaceutical manufacturing workers in six Southeastern states, you can escape the admission fee for the 25th annual conference of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering’s Carolina-South Atlantic chapter March 13 in Raleigh.

The event, to be held at the Raleigh Convention Center, will include exhibits from more than 200 of the industry’s top equipment and service providers as well as educational seminars, networking receptions and employee recruitment activities.

Paul McKenzie Ph.D., executive vice president of pharmaceutical operations & technology for Biogen, will present the keynote address, showcasing the innovation taking place at Biogen and in the greater pharmaceutical community and discussing how these efforts are positively impacting patients around the world.

ISPE Carolina-South Atlantic chapter is a not-for-profit volunteer society of technical professionals who apply their practical knowledge in the regulated pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industries. The chapter is committed to the advancement of the educational and technical efficiency of its nearly 1300 members through forums for the exchange of ideas and practical experience.

The Garner-based chapter sponsoring the event, commonly referred to as ISPE-CaSA, welcomes members and non-members from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina and Tennessee to participate. It’s one of ISPE's more than 30 North American Chapters and worldwide affiliates, and one of the society's largest and most active chapters.

The conference opens its doors at 9 a.m. and the public is invited to attend. Registration fees are $65 for members and $75 for nonmembers, though employees of pharmaceutical manufacturers are invited to attend free of charge.

Registration at the door on the day of the event is $85. Student registration fees are $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Registration includes food, parking and beverages throughout the day. The event will conclude with a reception for all attendees featuring complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
