Hundreds to Gather June 20 in Greensboro for Triad BioNight
Triad BioNight 2019, an event showcasing bioscience growth and honoring industry leaders in the Piedmont Triad region, is scheduled for June 20 at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro.
“Triad BioNight is a unique catalyst for interaction and celebration of excellence within our life science community,” says Nancy Johnston, executive director of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center’s Piedmont Triad Office.
“The event continues to attract high-level keynote speakers and sponsorships, awards nominations and hundreds of regional and statewide attendees. It’s an opportunity to make strategic connections with leaders who are transforming our region and contributing to North Carolina’s position as a global life sciences leader.”
David Hollinrake, Syngenta region director and North America president of Syngenta Seeds, will be the keynote speaker. He will talk about five megatrends in agriculture.
“Syngenta is a key contributor to not only North Carolina’s agricultural leadership but to the Piedmont Triad, which has the second largest concentration of ag biotech activity in the state,” Johnston says. “About 11 percent of the state’s ag biotech workforce is located in our region with much credit due to Syngenta, a top life sciences employer here.”
About 400 people from businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, and nonprofit organizations attend Triad BioNight. The event was first held in 2005 and has recurred every few years since then.
Triad BioNight is sponsored every two years by the Biotech Center’s Piedmont Triad Office and the Advisory Committee for Biotechnology in the Piedmont Triad. It is the only event of its kind in the state.
Biotechnology Excellence Awards will be given in five categories: Academic Development, Biotechnology Community Leadership, Biotechnology Service/Support, Entrepreneurial, and Research & Development.
Triad BioNight, An Evening of Spirit, Awards, and Recognition, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. VIP sponsors will have a private reception with Hollinrake from 5 to 6 p.m.
