Chiesi USA, Inc. and some 150 employees at its Cary headquarters contributed more than $980,000 worth of time and money to Triangle area charities in 2019.

The company and its employees contributed 2,400 hours in aid for 121 charities during the year, resulting in its third Corporate Philanthropy Award from Triangle Business Journal for exceptional service to patients, employees and partners in 2019.

Chiesi in the Community is the company’s corporate social responsibility program, through which Chiesi employees support organizations that align with the company’s mission. The March of Dimes, the American Heart Association, and Cystic Fibrosis Research Inc. were some of the many who benefited.

Employee engagement and financial support also went to Triangle-area children. Chiesi in the Community participants donated school supplies, enhanced elective classes and supported nutrition programs with Poe Elementary School. Further initiatives with Marbles Museum, the North Carolina Football Association Spread Your Wings Foundation, and WRAL Coats for the Children and the Durham Bulls benefited underserved children in the community.

This past year Chiesi also gained B Corp Certification in 2019, reinforcing its mission to improve the quality of human life, by acting responsibly toward society and the environment and by adopting a unified standard of measurement within all the affiliates. B Lab, a leading global sustainability nonprofit that assesses companies’ impact, certified Chiesi in June 2019.
