Robert A. Lindberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Robert Lindberg leads NCBiotech’s Science & Technology Development team, which supports the state’s academic research enterprise through a series of funding programs and services available to university researchers, technology transfer offices and related stakeholders. Rob also serves on the Biotech Center's senior management team.

Previously, Dr. Lindberg was a member of the Center’s Business & Technology Development group and was responsible for managing several loans and grants programs, strategic partnering efforts, and programs in support of company formation, university technology transfer and entrepreneurship. He is the architect of a number of programs offered by NCBiotech and co-authored a strategic plan relating to life sciences-associated economic development for the North Carolina legislature.

Education

Dr. Lindberg holds undergraduate degrees in Music (Bellarmine College) and Mathematics (University of Louisville) and a Doctorate in Physiology and Biophysics (University of Louisville).

Dr. Lindberg is a microvascular physiologist (endothelial function in inflammation, thrombosis and cancer), and held postdoctoral fellowships at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Duke University Medical Center prior to joining the Biotechnology Center in 1999. He earned his Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) in 2005 and served as the Technical Sales Director for VWR BioSciences before returning to the Biotechnology Center.
