Project Description:
We are developing new targeted therapies for breast and ovarian cancers, specifically for triple-negative cancers when the cancer cells do not have three of the most common targets that current hormonal cancer therapies attack. Since breast cancer is over-represented in African American women, it is of concern in North Carolina. Significantly, our new drugs will be toxic only to the tumor, with few harmful side-effects.
