Project Description: PCSK9* is a protein that helps control the amount of cholesterol in a person's blood, which makes it a potential target for treatments for high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. However, doctors and researchers do not know the typical amount of PCSK9 that a person should have or that would be needed to lower blood cholesterol levels. This project will develop a new assay for determining the total amount and the active amount of PCSK9 in blood samples.
