Project Description:
Phospholipase C isozymes (PLCs) are important cell signalling messenger molecules that, when activated, cause a cascade of effects and activation of other cell-signalling molecules. Phospoholipase C disregulation and misactivation contributes to various diseases including cancer, atherosclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. This translational research project aims to further develop a fluorescent marker of PLCs to enable its use in assay development, drug discovery, and disease diagnosis.
