Project Description: A liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instrument will enable the analysis of a wide variety of small molecules naturally present in our body or introduced by consumption of foods, exposure to environmental agents (pathogens, pollutants, pesticides, tobacco products) or medical drugs. By analyzing bodily fluids and other samples, the LC-MS allows researchers to perform experiments to investigate disease prevention, causes of disease, development of new treatments, and improvement in the patient's quality of life.
