Clinician Innovation Initiative (CII)

Clinician Innovation Initiative

The Clinician Innovation Initiative (CII) was created to address a gap in innovation education and resources known/available to clinicians, i.e., physicians, Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), nurses, medical assistants and other individuals that interface with patients across the spectrum of healthcare delivery. This population of caregivers has not typically been exposed to the concepts of innovation, design thinking, start-ups, entrepreneurship, etc.  As a result, many are unaware they have the capacity to be innovative problem solvers. We aim to provide that “spark”! The CII’s goal is to foster innovation among practitioners through education, awareness, resource development, and partner engagement, creating a paradigm shift in clinician education and the role of clinicians in healthcare innovation.

Participate in Our CII Survey

The CII survey was initially conducted at the 2018 North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants Summer Conference for the purpose of assessing baseline innovation knowledge, activities and available resources of attending clinicians. We will be conducting this survey at this year’s NP Spring Symposium to gather additional data. Your participation in the survey will help guide follow-on program development.

Please stop by our booth on Monday and Tuesday to complete the survey.
