Healthy communities are intentionally built, not accidentally formed. Through the use of Digital Health tools, we can come to understand life and how to enhance wellness from birth through later years. We will examine the creation of healthy communities through the lens of public health initiatives, user-generated data, and the role that health systems can play in enabling digital care within and outside clinical environments.

Panel Discussion 2: Health Engagement
Engagement initiatives in healthcare have largely been a failure when it comes to involving individuals in their plan of care or motivating them to make healthier lifestyle choices. We will discuss what some of the barriers are to achieving meaningful engagement and how Digital Health technologies can best be used to activate people to take control of their health. Using analogous thinking, the Engagement workshop will explore lessons to be learned from other consumer-centric industries and how data (including social determinants of health) can be leveraged to create motivation.

Precision Health is a high-impact and advancing field that extends the opportunities provided by the preventive, therapeutic, and diagnostic elements of medicine to address population health challenges on an individualized basis. We will be exploring how Digital Health can enable Precision Health to become a broader reality by empowering researchers, providers, caregivers, patients, and consumers with personalized diagnostics, wellness guidance, and care management tools critical to preventing, improving, and managing disease.
