The 2018 DHIT Summit will convene internationally recognized thought leaders and key stakeholders from the healthcare ecosystem to dig deep into how Digital Health can pervasively be used to transform health. This exciting new annual event is uniquely designed to include post-event collaboration with the goal of creating a working model of care that will bring the future of health into real-world settings to produce measurable impact. Our expert panels and workshops will focus on three key transformative topics through the lens of Digital Health, including Building Healthy Communities, Health Engagement, and Precision Health.
Join us to LEARN, COLLABORATE, and IMPACT healthcare!
Listen, Learn, Act – inspiring keynote presentations and insightful panel discussions by industry experts will guide conversations around real-world needs and meaningful outcomes.
Hands-on Experimentation – breakout sessions facilitated by design thinking experts will connect participants focused on particular impact areas that will help drive healthier communities.
Technology Showcase – highlighting local innovations and talent to stimulate the ideation and solution design process.
This is a demand-focused, impact-oriented event, not a conference. Here’s the difference:
Focuses on existing solutions and discussing the lessons learned from trying to make them work.
Focuses on the demand side to blueprint the critical, unmet needs to guide the development of highly effective solutions.
Collaboration is non-existent, as the attendees listen to the speakers and then leave with notes.
Is fundamentally based on collaboration, where the entire ecosystem of stakeholders is engaged and leveraged.
There is no measurable impact, as the post-event activities simply include planning the next conference.
Involves post-event collaboration to test and validate solutions in real-world environments against the demand blueprint.

Panel Discussion 1: Building Healthy Communities
Healthy communities are intentionally built, not accidentally formed. Through the use of Digital Health tools, we can come to understand life and how to enhance wellness from birth through later years. We will examine the creation of healthy communities through the lens of public health initiatives, user-generated data, and the role that health systems can play in enabling digital care within and outside clinical environments.

Panel Discussion 2: Health Engagement
Engagement initiatives in healthcare have largely been a failure when it comes to involving individuals in their plan of care or motivating them to make healthier lifestyle choices. We will discuss what some of the barriers are to achieving meaningful engagement and how Digital Health technologies can best be used to activate people to take control of their health. Using analogous thinking, the Engagement workshop will explore lessons to be learned from other consumer-centric industries and how data (including social determinants of health) can be leveraged to create motivation.

Panel Discussion 3: Precision Health
Precision Health is a high-impact and advancing field that extends the opportunities provided by the preventive, therapeutic, and diagnostic elements of medicine to address population health challenges on an individualized basis. We will be exploring how Digital Health can enable Precision Health to become a broader reality by empowering researchers, providers, caregivers, patients, and consumers with personalized diagnostics, wellness guidance, and care management tools critical to preventing, improving, and managing disease.
