Symposium on Storytelling with Data at NC State University

Data analysis is not only about statistics and visualization - meaningful insight originates from a story that connect the dots. Data storytelling is a powerful tool that can tailor results to specific user groups (e.g. students, clinicians, patients, or the general public) and present them in a way which is easy to interpret and recall. This approach integrates data, domain expertise, intuitive visualization, and narration. At the symposium you will

  • See firsthand how storytelling can be used in research and education
  • Learn about techniques and best practices
  • Learn how neuroscience motivates the use of data storytelling
  • Connect with others interested in communicating data effectively

The event is a collaboration between the Department of Computer Science, the Institute for Advanced Analytics, and the Bioinformatics Research Center, and is sponsored by our ePartners LabCore and Merck.
