Charlotte Biomedical 2019

On Friday, May 10, the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Science (CBES) of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte will host the Charlotte Biomedical 2019 symposium with a poster competition to follow. Representatives from Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), Levine Cancer Institute, Cannon Research Center and OrthoCarolina Research Institute will give keynote sessions on the following topics:

  • Translational regenerative medicine
  • Cancer diagnostics and personalized medicine
  • Cryopreservation of tissues and organs
  • 3D organs and organs on a chip
  • Orthopedic regenerative medicine

Keynote speaker Dr. Thomas Shupe of WFIRM will give a seminar on the human body on a chip. Also, members will have the opportunity to present and discuss advances in their research program related to the session topics listed above.

Poster Competition

Graduate students will showcase their research in a competitive forum. Students will be judged on both the quality and oral presentation of their poster.
