Carolina Nanoformulation Workshop

Now in it's third year, the Carolina Nanoformulation Workshop happening March 12-16, is a unique training workshop about nanotechnology-based approaches that address pharma and biopharma needs for delivery of clinically relevant molecules. Participants from academia and industry alike are encouraged to attend all or part of our 3 days of discussion by experts from around the world, and 2 days of hands-on experience in the Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery (CNDD) labs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

This year's line-up includes an impressive list of speakers and will incorporate daily "speaker roundtable" discussions where participants and speakers will gather together to discuss the day's topics. This year the labs will focus on liposomes (extrusion) and on isolation and purification of cell derived vehicles (exosomes). We will run several methods of drug loading, purification of drug loaded carriers, and we will perform cell uptake studies. The characterization techniques will be applicable to the system, DLS, Nanosight and Fluorecence measurements.

Participants who enroll in this workshop will have access to pre-workshop lectures and presentations several weeks prior to the program and are asked to review them prior to arriving and come prepared to discuss them on a collegial and professional atmosphere.
