The Triangle Global Health Consortium One Health Collaborative seeks to promote and improve the health and well-being of all species by enhancing collaboration between physicians, veterinarians, researchers and other local / global health professionals, and by increasing public awareness of the interconnectedness of people, animals and the environment.

Next Generation Sequencing Group

The NextGen Sequencing Group was established to provide a forum to maximize the benefit that researchers can derive from high throughput DNA sequencing technologies (Illumina, 454, ABI SOLiD). These technologies are revolutionizing the genome wide investigations in various areas of biology and biomedical sciences.

Biomanufacturing and Process Development (BPD)

 

The Biotechnology Center initiated the Bioprocessing/Process Development Group to provide a forum for process development scientists and engineers to discuss bioprocessing issues. The group meets monthly with speakers from the industry, technology vendor companies and regulatory experts.

First Flight's John Draper Dies

John Draper, well known across North Carolina as an entrepreneurship leader, died unexpectedly last weekend.

Draper, 63, was president and director of the First Flight Venture Center incubator in Research Triangle Park.

Previously, Draper had served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Operations for the state's Technological Development Authority, which became First Flight.
