Atlantic Coast Chromatin Conference

The Conference aims to capitalize on the growth and expertise of laboratories studying chromatin structure and function in the Research Triangle area. Monthly meetings allow for scientists from local universities and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to discuss strategies and share data pertaining to the fields of epigenetics, chromatin architecture and gene expression.

The Biotechnology Center initiated the Bioprocessing/Process Development Group to provide a forum for process development scientists and engineers to discuss bioprocessing issues. The group meets monthly with speakers from the industry, technology vendor companies and regulatory experts.

North Carolina Plant Molecular Biology Consortium

The Consortium sponsors a monthly series of seminars featuring nationally recognized academic and industrial plant scientists. Membership is open to plant scientists associated with any of North Carolina's colleges or universities.

The RNA Society promotes communication and collaboration among those interested in the biological and chemical aspects of ribonucleic acid. Activities include a series of speaker seminars, a biennial international RNA symposium and an annual regional research meeting.

The RNA Society welcomes members of the academic, government and corporate communities.

Smaller Eukaryotes Group

This group focuses on research involving lower eukaryotes including yeast, Drosophila, and Chlamydomonas. Monthly meetings are held during the academic year at the Biotechnology Center’s Charles Hamner Conference Center. Each meeting consists of two 40-minute presentations and 25 laboratories at six institutions participate.

Triangle Virology Association logo

Triangle Virology Association

This group brings together virologists from companies, universities and government agencies throughout North Carolina to discuss the latest developments in basic and applied research. Meetings focus on the application of virology to the development of human therapeutics and agricultural products. Meetings include member presentations and talks from national guest speakers.

The Triangle Immunology Interest Group promotes collegial interactions and stimulates collaborative research among Triangle-area immunologists. Meetings are held monthly and participants from local companies and universities representing all levels of training are welcome. Participants are invited to present their research on a rotating basis.

The Biotechnology Center established this group to provide a forum for scientists in the Triangle to discuss issues pertaining to the use of microarrays in biological research. The group offers monthly seminars on a variety of microarray applications.
