The pre-application package is intended to give Business and Technology Development staff a brief overview of the company and its proposed research project and business activities.
This document will serve as the basis for a subsequent consultation with Business and Technology Development staff — a required step before the loan proposal may be submitted. The applicant is encouraged to review the loan eligibility criteria and loan program descriptions prior to submitting the pre-application.
The pre-application should be between two and three pages and include a basic summary of:
- The company
- The technology
- The project for which funding is requested
- The project value to the company
- The applicant business plan (as required)
The SGL application and approval procedures may be found here.
The table below indicates specific areas, by form of grant or loan, that should be addressed in the pre-application:
- Technology Enhancement Grant (TEG)
- Company Inception Loan (CIL)
- SBIR Bridge Loan (RBL)
- Small Business Research Loan (SRL)
- Strategic Growth Loan (SGL)
