The goal of this program is to aid recruitment of outstanding research faculty into tenure-track positions at the senior level to non-Research Extensive colleges and universities. It is expected that the recruit will significantly impact an academic institution’s overall biotechnology research initiative. These awards are intended to increase an institution’s competitive advantage in negotiations with the recruit.
Applications for FRG funding may be considered at any time. Duke, North Carolina State University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are ineligible for this program.
Note: Proposals for this grant may be submitted once the position has been formally advertised or after a formal offer has been extended but before a candidate accepts the position.
As early as possible in the recruiting process, applicants must alert the Biotechnology Center of an intention to submit a proposal. Call the Core Programs Manager at 919-549-8842 or e-mail virginia_deluca@ncbiotech.org.
