Purpose:
To promote and support bioinformatics by working toward the creation of high-performance computing and data storage capabilities accessible by all members of the Consortium.
Current and Ongoing Projects:
- N.C. BioGrid
- The North Carolina BioGrid has entered its test phase. The grid will allow life science researchers across the state fast access to vast amounts of genomics and proteomics data and the ability to quickly analyze it.
Completed Projects:
- ExPASy
- The ExPASy (Expert Protein Analysis System) server of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics is dedicated to the analysis of protein sequences and structures. The Consortium successfully established the sole U.S. mirror site at the North Carolina Super Computing Center.
