Federal Funding Databases
Each federal funding database listed provides a variety of ways to search for opportunities, including keyword searches.
- Grants.gov - Primary source to find and apply for federal government grants. Grants.gov simplifies the grants management process and creates a centralized, online process to find and apply for grant programs from the 26 federal grant-making agencies. You can also subscribe to the Grants.gov Funding Alert ListServ.
- SBIR Gateway - Includes news items, funding search services, national/regional conferences, solicitation dates, and partnering opportunities.
For more information, the Small Business Technology Development Center (SBTDC) provides resources for SBIR and STTR granting programs.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) - Funds grants, cooperative agreements and contracts that support the advancement of fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems in response to a funding opportunity announcement (FOA). NIH has developed an omnibus parent announcement for use - previously termed as "unsolicited" applications. NIH also provides grant opportunities that support research-related activities. You can subscribe to the NIH Funding Alert ListServ.
- National Science Foundation (NSF) - Promotes and advances scientific progress by competitively awarding grants and cooperative agreements for research and education in the sciences, mathematics and engineering. You can subscribe to the NSF update.
- Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance - Access to a database of all federal programs available.
- Federal Business Opportunities - Search, monitor and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire Federal contracting company.
