The Education and Training Program at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center  supports North Carolina educators at all educational levels through these programs and resources:

K-12 Teacher Support
The Biotechnology Center provides comprehensive support for teachers to implement hands-on biotechnology in the classroom.
Summer Biotechnology Workshops for Educators
Workshops provide an introduction to biotechnology as well as various advanced topics, with different offerings each year. Hands-on lab activities reinforce North Carolina Department of Public Instruction teaching objectives. Workshop offerings can address needs of both K-12 and college educators.

The Education and Training Program at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center supports biotechnology education projects at all educational levels through three funding programs.
Education Program Development and Advising
Partnering with educational institutions and outreach providers, the Biotechnology Center has produced educational materials and provides advice on curriculum and program design to faculty and administrators.

A resource for educators, students and parents to learn about biotechnology in North Carolina and explore biotechnology career options.
Workforce Development
Center staff track employment needs and trends in the North Carolina biotechnology industry, as well as the knowledge and skills required for different careers; and support the Biomanufacturing and Pharmaceutical Training Consortium.
