Bioprocess manufacturing is the fastest-growing sector of North Carolina’s biotechnology industry.
To better prepare North Carolina to meet this demand, the Biotechnology Center and its partners have established a statewide biomanufacturing training program, the North Carolina Biomanufacturing and Pharmaceutical Training Consortium.
The Training Consortium includes:
- BioNetwork, the community college system's statewide network of education and training programs for biotechnology, pharmaceutical and biomanufacturing.
- The Biotechnology Training and Education Center at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, offers students hands-on experience with commercial-scale pharmaceutical and biomanufacturing equipment.
- The Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Training Enterprise at North Carolina Central University in Durham will offer training opportunities for college students at all degree levels. Instructors will offer training in process analytical technology and development, quality assurance and quality control.
