Grants Boost 12 Campuses Statewide

The latest round of Education Enhancement Grants promise to bring innovative scientific education to classrooms across North Carolina.

Students at Western Carolina University will be analyzing molecular, chemical, and microscopic data in specialized rooms, while some in Beufort at Duke's Marine Laboratory apply genetics to marine conservation. New classroom and laboratory coursework at Mt. Olive College will train students for the state's growing amount of high-paying biotechnology jobs.

The dozen grants totaled $540,481. Information on all the awards is available, as is information about the grant program.
